Rebound is a 16-minute short film written and directed by me. The story follows high school sophomore Julia and her best friend Taylor as they try out for the varsity basketball team. When Taylor makes the varsity team and Julia is stuck on JV, Julia has to control her jealousy to maintain their friendship.
Rebound is inspired by my own experience of getting cut from my high school basketball team in my sophomore year and the complicated feelings of watching my friends continue playing without me.
We are crowdfunding $27,000 for Rebound 's production. As of our 15th day of the campaign, we are already at 46% crowdfunded!
